A MEDIUM is someone whose organism is sensitive to vibrations from the Spirit world and through whose instrumentality , intelligences in that world are able to convey messages and produce the phenomena of Spiritualism (NSAC 1914)
Everyone has the ability to communicate with the Spirit world. They are around us always, they never leave. Mediumship is not just clairvoyance. There are many different facets to Mediumship and a multitude of ways to experience communication.
One of the most important functions of mediumship is to help to offer understanding and healing to those who have suffered the loss of a loved one. There is certain comfort in knowing that they are still here with us and in knowing that they are happy and safe. It is a process that can help to bring a measure of comfort and peace to us when we need it the most. It can sometimes help to bring clarity and understanding to circumstances that we could not control. Yes, it is possible to connect with our loved ones who have passed. It is a very real thing and it proves they are still here.
Mediumship is not fortune telling and card reading. While that is fun too, it does nothing to prove the continuity of life. What is the purpose of mediumship? If we can prove that we never die, that existance does not end with what we call death and we DO continue on....it changes what we think about life. We have a definite purpose. A reason for being here and a reason for doing the best we can while we are here. There is meaning to what we are experiencing. It is not all just chance and happenstance. It offers our world new hope!
